West Ottawa wrapped up its 2nd annual Olympic developmental camp last week with a good showing at the 2017 Myrmidon Spring Classic. For six weeks, Panther wrestlers and wrestlers from West Michigan gathers on Monday and Tuesday nights to learn technique from former national team members and distinguished alumni. Then on Friday nights, the wrestlers gathered to wrestle in small in house tournaments that gave them a a chance to try freestyle and greco-roman wrestling, the two styles offered in the Olympic games. These "Fight Nights" were an inexpensive yet vital exposure for wrestlers to the sport.
For those who couldn't make it (and for those who wish to review) below is the technique that was shown. Please share with those that would like to learn freestyle or greco technique.
Also, here are some photos from the Myrmidon Fight Nights. We hope to see even more next year.
