Ethan Curtin Finishes Up Stellar Career At Michigan State

EAST LANSING, MI-
Ethan Curtin finishes up his collegiate career at Michigan State University. As a Redshirt Senior, Curtin was 6-9 for the Spartans. He excelled in the classroom, being an Academic All-Big Ten and the recipient of the SASS Academic Excellence Gala

2018-19 (Redshirt Sophomore)

• 13-12 Overall
  
• Had two wins by fall, three by tech fall, and two by major decision
  
• Academic All-Big Ten for the winter season
  
• Named as the programs top scholar at the SASS Academic Excellence Gala.

2017-18 (Redshirt Freshman)

• 7-14 Overall
  
• Grady Peninger Scholastic Achievement Award recipient
  
• Tied for sixth on the team in major decisions with two
  
• Finished eighth at the Storm Open, posting a major decision while going 2-2 at the tournament
  
• Recorded a fall at the CSU Open at 3:45 over Cody Moosman of Cleveland State
  
• Tallied second major decision of the season against Hunter Lajiness of Henry Ford at the Alma Open
  
• Went 2-2 at the Edinboro Open to close out the season.

2016-17 (Redshirt)

• 3-14 Overall
  
• Posted one fall on season, pinning Tomas Diaz of Henry Ford in 2:07 as part of going 2-2 at the Alma Open
  
• also posting a 7-1 win over Christian Lawhorn of Olivet.

As a West Ottawa alumni (Class of 2016) Curtin earned all-area honors after posting a 41-6 record as a senior, as well as a district champion and a won the district title a two-time team-captain for the Panthers. "This is a big deal for me as a coach," says head coach Ryan Lancaster. "Ethan is our first 'pantherstyle' wrestler to make it not only through college, but at the highest stage of division one athletics. His aggressive style and motor that wouldn't quit aided him against some  of the toughest kids in the country. I look forward to his next move."
