WEST OTTAWA SUMMER CAMP FREE FOR ALL WOPS STUDENTS

Featuring a high-profile slate of national and regional coaches and athletes, the West Ottawa Wrestling Camp emphasize technical skill development and strategy. Our curriculum covers everything from basic fundamentals—stance, positioning, takedowns, and escapes—to advanced technique and strategy, including set-ups, finishes, and drilling. We separate wrestlers into smaller groups determined by age, weight and ability, so each wrestler will receive a level of training that fits his or her skill and experience level. The philosophy of our camp also relies on teaching a disciplined, focused mindset that is the trademark of the "Pantherstyle" Ethos.

The West Ottawa Wrestling Camp is directed by college coaches along with All-American wrestlers. Active college wrestlers serve as counselors at this camp, as well as regional all-star talent. Our premier roster of coaches and wrestlers will train side-by-side with camp athletes and lead by example with the discipline and work ethic that are the foundation of our camp. This is all done at no cost to all West Ottawa Public School athletes.

West Ottawa High School (PE-RTC) and Myrmidon Training Systems

Group One 2nd-5th Grade
Group Two 6th -12th Grade
Includes free T-shirt for each wrestler.
Includes Access to Clinics & Scrimmages
$60 2nd-12th grade (wrestlers with some wrestling experience)
Open to All Full Myrmidon Memberships*

FORMAT
Clinics
Group One 2nd-5th Grade

5:15pm-6:30pm at PE-RTC
Clinics ran by wrestling clinicians that have a great deal of experience at Olympic style wrestling.
They will consist mostly of technique and drilling, with some live situations.

Group Two 6th -12th Grade

6:00pm-7:30pm at Myrmidon Training Systems
Clinics ran by wrestling clinicians that have a great deal of experience at Olympic style wrestling.
They will consist mostly of technique and drilling, with some live situations.

Open Mat
Both Group One and Two

12:00pm-1:30pm at Myrmidon Training Systems
An open practice designed to give individual attention to wrestler’s technique.

Scrimmages (Myrmidon Friday Nights)

Participate in live competition with local wrestlers during the off-season.
Runs 6pm to 8pm at PE-RTC
All Camp Members are welcome; or $5 Drop Ins

DATES and TIMES TBA

Format: Wrestlers blocked into 5-8 groups. At the start of each round, wrestlers in that group will report to the mat and find a partner. All matches will be 4 minutes (2-2). Our Goal is to wrestle 4-5 rounds.
