In an effort to keep everyone informed (athletes, parents, administrators, and alumni) we are launching our web based newsletter. Here are the happenings for everything West Ottawa Wrestling related!

In an effort to keep our athletes training in these uncertain times of the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent quarantines, West Ottawa Wrestling has teamed up with Myrmidon Training Systems to offer up remote wrestling training. Each week we will be adding new assignments in all seven categories of training, as well as special "quarantine technique" from their YouTube channel. PANTHERSTYLE VIRTUAL BANQUET RESULTS
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to host our traditional banquet this spring. Each year, this is an event that our student-athletes, coaches, and Pantherstyle Family members look forward to gathering and celebrating the accomplishments of these men and women. Below is the results of our first annual virtual banquet held on our website and social media this week. These men and women deserve a tremendous amount of recognition and deserve to be celebrated. This year, we also included the middle school and Panther Elite programs as well. This is the first time we have hosted all K-12 athletes under one banner.

We are excited to announce several opportunities available to all West Ottawa athletes. First, Summer conditioning will begin in June at the High School. Full nformation from WOPS and the MHSAA are attached in this email. But essentially:

• Start date of June 8
• Program will follow guidelines established by the National Federation of State High School Assoc.  (NFHS) and the MHSAA
• Through the first portion of the workouts we will be focusing on functional movement and getting our athletes prepared for a gradual ramp up of strength. With months on inactivity for many, our workouts will be developed to make sure we are slowly building our athletes back up. 
• Upon arrival, all athletes will park in lot outside of South Pool area and enter North HS Track area from the South. 
• All students will have Temp. Scan and utilizing a QR Code will access the NFHS Monitoring Form through Google Forms so we can gather results each day. 
• Once scans are complete athletes will be put through a dynamic warm-up while maintaining social distance protocols. 
• Workout will include a 45 min workout with a 15 min post workout sanitation process. All workouts will be conducted using minimal equipment (bands, body weight, and plate work)
• Students will maintain proper social distance protocol throughout the workout and will use disinfectant wipes before and after using any equipment. 
• Hand Sanitizer and Wipes will be present to ensure proper sanitation processes are being followed. 
• Upon completion of workout students will exit the track complex and return home. 
• Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle to workouts as no common water will be provided. Students also encouraged to shower and practice proper hygiene upon return home.

Group 2-All Non-Football Male Athletes

• 8:45-9:45 – Field workout @ North HS Track

• June 16-July 2
• Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm-7pm
• Tunnel Park 66 N, Lakeshore Ave, Holland, MI 49424

1. Wrestlers will learn the nuances of shadow wrestling as well as condition themselves for next season.
2. STUDENTS and STAFF will maintain social distancing guidelines.
