West Ottawa Middle School (WOMS) Wrestling is a fundamental, and arguably, most important part of our developmental program. Athletes are introduced to the subtle nuances of the sport, and are eventually brought to compete at a competitive level in the area. Taking the helm this year are two new Co-head coaches, Brandon Tresemer and Cassie Virgil. Coming to us from Zeeland East, Coach Tresemer bring a tenacious flare to our middle school program. He had a great prep career at Zeeland East, setting his school's record for the most career wins (158). He also was an all state wrestler and a district champion his senior year. Cassie comes to us all the way from Washington state where she had an impressive prep career. An overall competition record of 72-94 . In 2006 she won a state title, and then went on to place at the state, and win regional and district titles She turned to coaching women's wrestling for the 2009-2010 and 2015-16 seasons. In her reign, she had 10 WIAA state qualifiers , as well as 5 Academic All-State girls. Cassie is also our head girls team coach.
Practices will run from 3pm to 5:pm everday in the Macatawa Bay Middle School Wrestling Room. Any questions, please email Tresemer, Virgil, or the program directly.
