Garza takes 5th at Michigan Grappler Fall Classic

BATTLE CREEK, MI

The Panthers had an impressive day wrestling at an even more impressive tournament. The 6th Annual Michigan Grappler Fall Classic attracted athletes from all over the country. Several Panthers stepped up to the challenge and tested their merits against a high level of competition. Most impressive on the day was the performance of 2015 State Qualifier Jace Garza who placed 5th at the 98lbs weight class. In fact he didn't lose a match until he faced off against phenom Carson Manville, the 2015 USAW Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Champion.

Though many of our wrestlers are still dusting the cobwebs off and finding their timing again, it still showed great promise in the leadership of the team. The season is shaping up in the right direction.

The next time the panthers will wrestle is at the 2015 Border Wars National Championships November 14 at the very same venue of Kellogg Arena. The event flyer can be seen HERE._
